Peace in the Storm of Addiction

Posted on June 1st, 2013

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5, NIV)

Are you facing a situation where you do not have any idea what the solution could be? Sometimes we have to stop overanalyzing everything and choose to trust God. Instead of letting negative things like fear, doubt and anxiety take over our minds, we need to take a step back and let God speak to us. We have to take the time to shut off all of the distractions to meditate and pray.

The disciples of Jesus were overtaken by a great storm, and they thought their ship was going down. As Jesus rested below, they actually thought that he must not really care about them. When they cried out to him, he came up and said the beautiful words “Peace, Be Still”, and this horrible storm that was threatening their very lives was stopped in its tracks. Today our Lord is still calming storms. He can calm the storms of addiction and bondage. He can calm your storms also, and he will if you call on his name and allow him to help you.

Proverbs 3:5 says to trust in the Lord with your whole heart. That is where faith comes in. Have faith that God knows what he is doing and hehas a plan for you. Have faith that “EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK”. As you lean on him, you will see his blessings pour into your life.
